This book, and the former QMED-General book were originally designed to cover the most common Coast Guard“Limited Tonnage” shipboard Engineering Department licensing and certification requirements. By including additional material, we supplemented these books to provide study materials to upgrade to the Designated Duty Engineer (DDE) officer endorsements.
